A delegation led by the minister of planning and national development Hon. Ahmed Adam Buhaane toured a water installation project in Borama town.

The planning minister was accompanied by the Danish envoy to Somalia/Somaliland and top officials from Somaliland Development Fund (SDF).

Also attending were top regional government officials. The water project site is located on the western part of Borama town.

Addressing the press at site Awdal governor Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Aalin (Timbaro) revealed the water project was long overdue and thanked the donor countries for supporting Somaliland development programs. He confirmed that the project would be completed in March.

Denmark Ambassador H.E. Sun Anderson stated the pleasure of his country’s bilateral relationship with Somaliland. He said that global warming has affected sources of water in Somaliland.

Speaking to journalists at the venue minister of planning Hon. Ahmed Buhane affirmed the government’s steadfastness in ensuring that water was available to all people of Awdal region. He added that the technical issues have been resolved to ensure water supply reaches every corner of Awdal region.
