The Executive Director of Somaliland Aids Commission has confirmed that their organisation is lobby for inclusion of HIV/Aids in secondary schools syllabus. The commission executive director Mr.Ahmed Abdi Ismael chaired an advocacy meeting to complete the integration of Aids into the Somaliland education curriculum.

Addressing participants at the workshop the executive director stressed the importance of implanting knowledge on HIV/Aids to the country’s youths.

He said “The most vulnerable times of our lives is during our teenage years. We have to engage the youths on the dangers of this killer disease. This can only be done through learning about the disease in schools.”

SOLNAC executive director confirmed that the advocacy campaign will also include universities where many youths study. He stated the only way to win against HIV/Aids is through continuous engagement with the youths.
