The President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Muse Bihi Abdi, today received at the Presidential Palace a delegation led by the Chairman and CEO of DP World, Sultan Ahmed Bin Suleiman.
The meeting focused on accelerating the partnership between the Republic of Somaliland and DP World, paving the way for the opening of the first phase of the Berbera port, which has been completed and will be opened soon, and discussed how to move on to the second phase of the expansion port of Berbera.
They also discussed business opportunities surrounding the use of the Berbera port, such as the Berbera Corridor trade route and its expansion, as it will carry large number of cargo to neighboring Ethiopia and the Middle East. Africa.

DP World Group Chairman and CEO, Mr. Sultan and Somaliland President also discussed the realization of Berbera Corridor highway which is vital for the transit goods destined for Ethiopia, a landlocked country next to Somaliland as well as other trade goods heading for East and Central Africa.

During the meeting, the two sides also raised to reform customs at Berbera and Tog Wajale to provide quick services in order to facilitate goods destined for the African countries.

The meeting between the president of the republic and DP World Chairman and CEO, Mr. Sultan ended with a common understanding of the issues that have been discussed.

Minister of finance, planning, livestock, deputy FM, Berbera Port Manager and SL Rep to the UAE were all in attendance.
