The Somaliland Coast Guard is now in its third week of a five-week training exercise being carried out by Swedish Coast Guard experts and EUCAP Advisers in Berbera, using three fast boats donated by the Swedish government last year.
The training began on 12 November and includes advanced Search and Rescue (SAR) procedures, navigation, boat handling, and theoretical and practical seamanship.
It has been organized by EUCAP as a part of series of training programs for Somaliland Coast Guard personnel, to build capacity to respond to medical and security emergencies at sea..
