HARGEISA, Somaliland – The headquarters of the WADDANI Party in Hargeisa witnessed the 7th session of the “Talk to Your Party” (La-hadal Xisbigaaga) program, a weekly interactive forum designed to strengthen direct communication between government officials, party leadership, and the grassroots supporters of Somaliland’s ruling political party.
This week’s edition featured the Minister of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Hon. Hussein Bashir Hirsi, as the distinguished guest speaker. The Minister delivered a comprehensive briefing on the Ministry’s ongoing and planned healthcare initiatives, outlining the scope of services currently being extended to communities across the regions.
During the interactive segment, attendees posed a wide array of questions to the Minister, touching on critical issues such as healthcare accessibility, the state of medical facilities, public health emergency preparedness, and the Ministry’s strategies for addressing maternal and child health challenges. The Minister responded with detailed clarifications on current policies and future roadmaps.
Beyond the Q&A session, the forum provided a platform for citizens to share constructive feedback, practical suggestions, and forward-looking perspectives on how to enhance healthcare delivery and social welfare programs. Participants emphasized the need for increased outreach in rural areas, improved pharmaceutical supply chains, and greater investment in primary healthcare centers.
The “Talk to Your Party” initiative, now in its seventh consecutive week, underscores the WADDANI Party’s commitment to transparent governance and inclusive decision-making. By bringing ministers directly to the people, the program aims to bridge the gap between policy formulation and public expectation, ensuring that citizen voices are heard and integrated into the national development agenda.
Speaking at the close of the event, party officials reaffirmed their dedication to continuing these weekly engagements, with future sessions expected to feature other cabinet ministers and senior government officials addressing various sectors of national importance.
